Checking For Car Leaks – Lazy Oil Leak Detection
It’s sometimes hard to tell where an oil leak is coming from, especially when it seems as if the oil is leaking from everywhere. By adding UV dye into the oil, the leak can be detected much easier. Cleaning the engine may be necessary to rule out some possibilities, that may just be an accumulation of a leak from one source that has blown around while driving covering a larger area. Leaks are a pain, especially when they stain our driveways. Also if not kept full, engine damage can obviously occur due to the engine not having sufficient lubrication. A common mistake for new drivers that have a leak-er is to overfill the engine’s crankcase. Sometimes if their car leaks really fast they reason that overfilling it will allow them more time to drive without having to stop and top off. But if too much oil is added, the problem can be exasperated, causing even more leaks!
